June 2026 HFF Meeting

I hope the weather has allowed you to do a bit of fishing. I fished the tailgate waters of Lake Griffy Friday and did well. May have done better if I hadn’t had to share the water with kids with worms and bobbers and dogs enjoying a nice little swim…Everyone had a good time!

The next meeting of the HFF will be on Tuesday June 16th. Again, we will meet at the American Legion Post #18 on third street. Dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00.

The program this month will be about dubbing. I borrow this sentence from Charlie’s Fly Box…”Let’s talk seriously about dubbing. In fly tying, the word is both a noun (the material) and a verb (the act of applying the material).”  There will be demonstrations of various techniques and materials. Looking forward to your added advice and questions. Anyone with the skills, tools and desire to get some of the demos up on the TV screen will be more than welcome!

Smithermans Draggin Nymph

Paul Brown  will demonstrate tying Smitherman’s Draggin’ Nymph. This is the one in the picture and uses Senyo’s Laser Dub in a manner new to me. My guess is that you will be impressed by how the abdomen is constructed from the Laser Dub.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 16th. And hearing about all your fishing adventures for the summer.
