The program this month will be Chris Conner discussing the overall health of
Lake Lemon as it relates to fishing. He will also cover the impact of fishing tournaments on the fishery. I am looking forward to hearing about the impact of tournaments on the fishing.
Mike Donovan will be tying a Clouser Swimming Nymph. This is a nice looking little fly and I am guessing that Clouser guy knew something about fly design. I understand he also has a minnow pattern named for him.
The next meeting of the HFF will be July 21st. Again, we will meet at the American Legion on 3rd street. The meeting will start with dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00.
The program this month will be a “Summer Reading List”. We will present a number of books on both tying techniques and various fishing adventures. I am interested in comparing books on technique with what we can now watch on line. For example I am holding Charlie Craven’s Basic Fly Tying published in 2008 and comparing it to my experiences with the
Clarlie’s Fly Box videos I watch these days. There are also books about fishing stuff by the likes of
John Gierach that take us on some fun fishing related adventures. We look forward to your input in this summer reading trip.
We will be treated to a fly tying demo by Elizabeth.
HFF Meetings are open to anyone interested in fly tying or fly fishing.
