HFF Christmas Party 2019

I trust you have all had a Happy Thanksgiving with plenty of turkey and football. And, if that was not enough fun, this note is to announce the time and place for this years’ HFF Christmas Party.

The party will be December 15th starting at 11:00 AM. This year the party will be in the Tudor Room in the Indiana  Memorial Union Building. The Union Building is located at 900 E. 7th Street. Word on the street is that the Tudor Room has the best buffet in town.

You will receive a parking ticket when you enter the lot. Save this  ticket, it will be stamped at the party making the parking free. Who doesn’t like free parking in Bloomington!

The club will provide the buffet and nonalcoholic beverages. Adult beverages will be available on you own tab. I am sure the food and fellowship will be great and the afternoon topped off by the raffle.  Once again, the raffle prize will be a flyrod.

Hoping to see you all there,

Tim

November 2019 HFF Meeting

Make sure to mark your calendar for this coming Tuesday November 19th as the next meeting of the HFF. This will be a busy meeting, fun as always but some “stuff” to deal with.

Among the business for the up-coming HFF meeting includes:

  • Election of Officers—the current executive committee has agreed to serve for another year. However, as always, we accept nominations from the floor.
  • Treasurer’s report. This will be a good time to pay your dues if you have not done so yet.
  • New members, please give Tim your email address to get on the google group.

Round table discussion, e.g. fishing reports, new equipment reports, etc.

There will be news for this year’s Christmas Party.

The raffle and the program.

The program this month will be our own Larry Barber trying 5 flies in five minutes. Larry believes there are flies tied to catch fish and other flies tied to catch fisher persons. He will tie flies designed to catch fish. Larry will also discuss the relationship of prey and predator when designing and fishing flies. He will also discuss why you need a 7 or 8 wt rod to land the Bluegills that are caught on  these flies.

Looking forward to seeing you all this coming Tuesday at the American Legion Post 18 in Bloomington . Dinner at 6:00 and program at 7:00.

Stay warm, Tim
