I do hope it has been hot enough for you these past daze. I think some of the fish we are catching may be already parboiled. It sure has been up and down with local water levels this year.
The August meeting of the HFF will be on the 19th. Again we will be meeting at the American Legion on 3rd street in Bloomington. Dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00.
The program this month will be Kyle Swafford talking about fall fishing. I am sure he will mention a variety of seasonal things to consider when chasing big fish this year.
The tying demo will be Mike Donovan tying a tricolor streamer. He sometimes uses this to chase bluegill in the fall.
Again we are always looking for ideas for future programs. All HFF Meetings are open to the public for anyone interested in fly tying or fly fishing.
Hope to see you all on the 19th. Dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00
I hope everyone survived the 4th of July with all their fingers. Our July meeting will be on the 15th and again we will meet at the American Legion Post #18 here in Bloomington. Dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00
The program this month will concern water safety with Barry Clarke presenting. I quote Barry…”I do have about 70 years on the water and have broken pretty much all the rules at least once. So, I have some examples of what can go wrong to share.” We look forward to others sharing information about their “on the water” safety tips.
Paul Brown will be doing the tying demo. He will tie the Micro Bugger. This pattern caught a lot of Bluegills in Griffy Lake this summer.
Next month Kyle Swafford will present a program on fall fishing for Smallmouth bass.
Look forward to seeing everyone on the 15th. HFF meetings are open to the public. If you are interested in fly fishing or fly tying you are welcome to join us.
