April Auction 2017

April 2017 Auction

Several Members attended the annual HFF Auction of good stuff. Our own Kernal Kevin was in good form for the night and entertained us all with his auctioneering skills and wit. Items generously donated by members for the fundraiser included, pewter fly pens, fish creel full of stuff, Hummingbird fish locator, hand crafted wooden fish nets, tying lights, fly fishing books, fly lines, fly boxes, fly boxes filled with flies, and numerous packets of hand tied flies, all guaranteed to catch something. Many miscellaneous items were also auctioned off to help support the clubs activities. Thanks to Kernal Kevin and to those who brought cash to the meeting.

April 2017

The next exciting meeting of the HFF will be April 18 at the Colorado Steakhouse. Dinner will be at 6:00 and the program will be at 7:00.

This meeting is the annual auction! A fun time for everyone!
So what we need is stuff to auction off, really good stuff. If you don’t have any really good stuff to give, my guess is that kinda OK stuff will do just fine. In addition to stuff, huge stuff, the best stuff…you may also bring a few extra bucks.

Please consider this a gentle reminder to start accumulating things for the annual HFF auction.

This is going to be fun, it is possible you may even be able to buy back what you donated last year!

Additional Reminders

The April 18th meeting will be the annual auction.  Once again the auction will be called by our own Kernal Kevin Montague. So, gather up some really good stuff you can live without to donate to the auction and set aside a few extra bucks to buy all the stuff you can’t live without.

The Annual HFF Picnic will be in May, either the 6th or 7th.  More on the gala event later. Thanks again to the Clarkes for hosting this event.

FISH REPORT: Spring is here, the weather is good, fish are on the move. Local water temperatures are running in the mid to high 50’s and we’ve had some good reports of panfish being very active. Some fish are having the spawning urge with the warming water temperatures. Fish reported being caught recently are carp, LM bass, crappies, bluegills, rainbow trout, and a couple of smallies. Early Spring fishing can be some of the best of the year, get out and fish.
