HFF Meeting Scheduled For October

I trust you are all enjoying the weather. Personally, I could stand another 6 weeks of this…well maybe a bit of rain here and there. We are going to try one more wet wading day on Sunday. After that, I am thinking it is time to chase some Wipers.

So, we have the October meeting of the HFF coming up on the 20th. It is looking like a rather busy meeting. As usual, we will start with dinner. There will be announcements concerning new and old news.  Among the new items, we need to nominate officers for the coming year. We will vote on the slate at the December meeting. And, BTW, dues are now due.

We will then have a round table discussion to catch us all up on everyone’s summer adventures.  I am anxious to hear how you all were able to spend some time in something resembling an exciting adventure. Myself, I was finally  able to understand what the dogs and cats find so Intriguing while staring blankly out the window.

The big hit of the evening will be Mike D. tying a Jelly Bean Nymph. Chances are good that this will look so good you may be tempted to take a bite. I have been asked to tell you this Jelly Bean is not for human consumption.

The November meeting will be the auction. Kernal Kevin has been resting his voice for a bit so he should be in good form. We ask you to bring some fishing and outdoor equipment so Kevin has something to work with. More information on the auction coming soon.

We will  again meet at the American Legion Post # 18 at 1800 W. 3rd. ST Bloomington. Dinner at 6:00 and the program at 7:00. We will be meeting in the big dining room so there will be room for social distancing. The Legion is now able to serve at 75% capacity.

Please follow the mask requirements of the county and the American Legion.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 20th..

Stay well,

Tim

Meetings 2020 and the Corona Virus

I trust you are all well and safe and not too much more nuts than you were before this virus business began. I am beginning to understand why dogs take such pleasure in staring out closed windows. I am finding teaching studio classes online a bit like teaching swimming without water. I am guessing we can go fishing if we remain a fly rod length apart!

The executive committee has been discussing the HFF meeting schedule for the remaining dates of the year. We have come to the consensus that we should regroup in the Fall. As Kevin pointed out, “I think we need to remain cautious, 90% of the fatalities are in the population of 60 and up.” I think at least some of us are in that group.

We will schedule the Club Auction for the Fall, perhaps the first meeting. Kernal Kevin has agreed to again treat us to his melodious voice and skills. We are also hoping to work on a Fall, Club Member Picnic. We are also working on having Joe Smith present his program, Healing Waters Fly Fishing, in an early Fall meeting. I know we are all looking forward to his presentation.

We hope you all stay safe and well. Please let us know of any exciting and safe ways you devise for the coming months. And let us hope things are more certain and settled in the Fall. We certainly hope you are able to do some fishing over the summer and will arrive at the first fall meeting with fresh tales of all the One Pound Bluegills you caught.

Be well,

Tim
